All Women's Dance (1970) - The Gay Liberation Front (GLF) in New York City organized separate dances for women, with the first one held on April 3, 1970, which was a huge success and drew hundreds of attendees.

These dances allowed GLF women to forge a sense of community with other lesbians and gave them an opportunity to meet and work separately from men, which they found exhilarating.

The decision to organize separate women's dances stemmed from tensions within the GLF regarding sexism and the marginalization of women's issues. Many GLF women felt their concerns were being ignored or diminished by some of the male members.

The women's dances were a significant development that led to the formation of the "Radicalesbians" group in the spring of 1970, which became the first lesbian feminist group to emerge after the Stonewall riots.

The dances provided a space for GLF women to assert their autonomy and address the sexism they faced within the larger gay liberation movement, paving the way for increased visibility and recognition of lesbian issues.

Note: Due to the thickness of the towel the print colors may not soak all the way through the fabric and white background can show through when towel fibers are stroked.

.: Material: 52% polyester (front) and 48% cotton (back)
.: Comes in two sizes (30" × 60" and 36" × 72")
